Bill lost his mom when he was only a few days old, so we bottle-raised him here on the ranch. That early bond is the reason a mature bison will run to us when called — but make no mistake, working with a full-grown bull is never easy.Training starts with trust, patience, and respect for the animal. Moments like this are built over years, not days, and they show what’s possible when livestock are raised with calm handling and good stockmanship. This is everyday life at Rocky View Bison, just outside Calgary.
